Police warns pro-kannada activists for protesting Lalu's remarks

Bangalore, Feb 14 (UNI) The Karnataka police have severely warned the pro-kannada activists, who were violently protesting against some alleged remarks by the Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav during his visit to the State this week.

Additional Inspector General of Police Shankar Bidiri said that the members or those using the name of 'Karnataka Rakshana Vedike' (KRV) were acting against the rules by attacking railway offices in Karnataka. Strict actions would be initiated against them, he said in a release here today.

''If they don't follow the rules they will be severely dealt with.

If any police official is found not taking required action, he too will be punished,'' he added.

Marauding KRV members had ransacked ticket reservation counters in Cantonment and Yesvantpur railway stations in the city bringing ticket booking to a halt. They also protested in many places in the State. Police came under fire for not initiating strict action against the rampaging mob.
