Sterlite will manufacture and supply AAAC Power Transmission Conductors and the deliveries are scheduled from April through September, a company statement said.
The company was chosen as the sole manufacturer and supplier for over 17,000 km of 'AAAC Conductors' that would be installed in the 4,000 km route length of the 'Accelerated Electrification Programme (AEP) Project', being executed under World Bank funding in Ethiopia.
''We are honoured to partner with the EEPCo for this project. With over a decade of experience with the varying requirements of our customers in global markets, supported with state-of-the-art integrated manufacturing facilities, we believe that Sterlite is uniquely positioned to deliver significant value to all our business partners,'' company's Director Pravin Agarwal said.
Sterlite's export sales for its Power Conductors accounted for about 35 per cent of total revenues from sale of its Power Conductor products, for nine months in FY 2007-08.
The company currently supplies about 27 per cent of the country's total demand for power transmission&distribution conductors.
