Women Journalists to meet in Pune tomorrow

Pune, Feb 7 (UNI) A Three-day national conference of women journalists, organised by the Pune working Journalists and Network of Women in Media, will get underway here tomorrow.

Pune Union of working Journalist president Dnyaneshwar Bijale said that dance exponent Malika Sarabhai will inaugurate the conference.

At least 130 women mediapersons from New Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh and some from Nepal, Sri Lanka and Philippines will be participating.

Man held for penning book critical of Mahabharatha

Chennai, Dec 29: Central Crime Branch Police have arrested the founder president of the Tamil Nadu Muslim Makkal Katchi S M Basha for writing and publishing a book in English, which criticises the epic Mahabharatha, here last night. Based on a complaint from Meenakhshisundaram, Secretary, Chennai District Hindu Makkal Katchi, police searched the house of Mr Basha and seized 70 copies of the book titled 'A Brief Anatomy of the Mahahabharatha'. Parliament adopts Foreign Languages Bill

New Delhi, Dec 12: Parliament today adopted the English and Foreign Languages University Bill 2006 providing for establishing and incorporating a teaching university for promotion and development of English and other foreign languages.
