Uma hurt in accident

Satna, MP, Feb 7 (UNI) Bharatiya Janashakti Founder-President and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti was today admitted to the district hospital's intensive care unit after sustaining a head injury in an accident.

''While heading to take part in a programme at Tikuri Aver after addressing a meeting at Khamriya Kotar, she was alighting from a vehicle -- on urging by people -- when the door suddenly closed,'' said BJ District President Mansukh Patel.

The former union minister received first aid at a local private hospital but later complained of giddiness.

BJ workers staged a demonstration outside the district hospital alleging that Ms Bharti was not receiving treatment due to a VIP and that security was lax.

Kidney kingpin allegedly arrested in Nepal

Kolkata, Feb 7 (UNI) Kidney transplant racket kingpin Amit Kumar was today arrested by a special team of Kathmandu police from a jungle resort in southern Nepal close to Indian border village of Raxaul. Bindra is chairman of IPL Grounds and Infrastructure Committee

Mumbai, Feb 7 (UNI) Former president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Inderjit Singh Bindra was today nominated as the chairman of the Grounds and Infrastructure Committee of the BCCI-promoted Indian Premier League (IPL).
