Telugu comedian Chittajallu dead

Hyderabad, Feb 7 (UNI) Telugu film actor Chittajallu Lakshmipathi Rao was found dead in his residence in the city today.

He was 55 and is survived by wife and children.

Police said the reason for his death was not immediately known.

The comedian's family was not in the city, at the time of this death.

He had acted in about 40 pictures including 'Andhrudu', 'Murari', and 'Allari'.

Iran Embassy Councellor calls on Prince of Arcot

Chennai, Feb 7 (UNI) The Cultural Counsellor in the Iranian Embassy Karim Najafi called on the Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Ali at the latter's official residence Amir Mahal here today. North Indians in Holland and Mauritius condemn violence

Mumbai, Feb 7 (UNI) Persons of Indian origin from Holland and Mauritius, belonging to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, have condemned the violence against North Indians in the city and Bhojpuri star Manoj Tiwari. A memorandum to the Indian embassies in the two countries have been submitted by persons of Indian origin there, stressing that the attacks are showing India in poor light and need to stopped immediately, Manoj Tiwari's spokesman said in a statement here.....

National power boards hockey, tug-of-war event commences

Hisar, Feb 7 (UNI) The 34th All India Inter State Electricity Boards Hockey and Tug of War tournament commenced here today. Lt Gen O S Lochab Chairman Haryana Power Transmission and Distribution Corporations inaugurated the tournament at Vidyut Nagar Sports Complex. In the starting game of tug of war, host and last years runners-up Haryana beat Madhya Pradesh 2-0. While last years winners Punjab State Electricity Board defeated Uttrakhand by 2-0. Chennai, Feb 7 (UNI) Defending champion Surya Shekhar Ganguly of Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) joined the overnight leader Tejas Bakre of Indian Airlines at the top with four points at the end of the fifth round of Velammal National 'A' Chess Championship, here today. Elephanta festival to commence from Feb 15
