Team India on top in Ceat cricket ratings

New Delhi, Feb 7 (UNI) Team India garnered a total of 89 points, staking a claim to the CEAT International Cricket Team of the Year 2007-2008.

The Indian team is closely trailed by South Africa with 81 points in the second position, while the Australian team has taken the third spot with 52 points.

Sachin Tendulkar with 85 points and Sourav Ganguly who has 82 points are ranked second and third in the batting list respectively .

Mahela Jayawardene of Sri Lanka, who topped the best batsman and fielders' list, leads the race for the CEAT International Cricketer of the Year 2007-2008 with a tally of 86 points.

In the bowlers category, Anil Kumble is the highest ranked Indian with a total of 41 bowling points. Dale Steyn is at the top with 62 bowling points, followed by Muttiah Murlitharan with 52 bowling points.

Adam Gilchrist has topped the wicketkeeper's list with 21 points.

Ancient whales walked the Earth millions of years ago

Washington, Feb 4 (ANI): A study of two 47.5 million-year-old fossils of whales, found in Pakistan in 2000 and 2004, has suggested that the animals used to walk the Earth during that period.The study, by researchers at the University of Michigan (U-M), analyzed two whale fossils - a pregnant female and a male of the same species.U-M paleontologist Philip Gingerich, who led the team that made the discoveries, was at first perplexed by the assortment of adult female.....
