Plea for separate commission for MBCs

Tiruchirapalli, Feb 7 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu M B C Christians Federations today appealed to the Tamil Nadu Bishops Council to create a separate commission for the most Backward Communities (MBCs) and the denotified communities at all churches in the State.

In a statement here, Federation State Secretary E Veilankanni said the federation had also appealed to introduce the MBC option policy in all the dioceses and Christian establishments and provide exclusive reservation for them in job and education.

It wanted a community-based census system and provision of adequate financial assistance to converted Christians, especially those belonging to MBCs.

Mumbai: Arun Gawli to appear in court March 12

Mumbai, Mar 11: The don-turned-politician Arun Gawli is likely to appear before the court tomorrow to hear on cancellation of his bail plea filed by Economic Offences Wing (EOW) department of the city police for his alleged involvement in a misappropriation case. Earlier, Additional Sessions Judge P D Vishwasrao had directed Gawli to appear before the court on March 12 for hearing on the petition.The EOW arrested Gawli a few months ago for allegedly misappropriating funds of the employees union affiliated.....
