North Indians in Holland and Mauritius condemn violence

Mumbai, Feb 7 (UNI) Persons of Indian origin from Holland and Mauritius, belonging to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, have condemned the violence against North Indians in the city and Bhojpuri star Manoj Tiwari.

A memorandum to the Indian embassies in the two countries have been submitted by persons of Indian origin there, stressing that the attacks are showing India in poor light and need to stopped immediately, Manoj Tiwari's spokesman said in a statement here today.

They said 50 to 60 per cent of the people of Indian origin in Holland and Mauritius belong to UP and Bihar and were pained at the developments, he said.

They have stated in the memorandum that ''such attacks should not be tolerated'', the spokesperson added.

The actor's office in Mumbai was allegedly stoned by MNS workers earlier this week as part of their agitation against North Indians.

Elephanta festival to commence from Feb 15

Taxi Union threatens indefinite strike
