Lucknow, Feb 7: The Uttar Pradesh police have ruled out the possibility of carrying out a narco analysis test on mafia-turned- politician Atiq Ahmed as of now but was working on presenting a water tight case against him in courts.

Sources in Allahabad police told to the sources that as of now there were no plans to carry out a narco test on the don. ''But we have nine cases against him and we are doing our homework to ensure that courts accept our evidences,'' said a senior police official.

The sources maintained that narco test on the Phoolpur MP could be carried out at a later date. ''We have enough evidences to nail him in courts,'' they added.

Atiq Ahmed, who was evading arrest for the past six months in a murder case of an MLA in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested by the Delhi police in the national Capital last week.

Ahmed, an expelled Samajwadi Party MP, was arrested by special cell of Delhi police on Thursday last from a apartment in Pitampura in west Delhi.

He was on the run after his name cropped up in the sensational murder case of Raju Pal, a BSP MLA in UP in January, 2005. He was carrying a reward of Rs 20,000.

The Uttar Pradesh police have secured a non-bailable warrant against him in connection with the Raju Pal murder case.

Ahmed had alleged that there was threat to his life from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati and it was for this reason that he was not surrendering to the state police.

Earlier, Mayawati had accused Congress leaders of conspiring to eliminate her and claimed that they were 'patronising' Ahmed whom she dubbed as mafia.

A number of cases including that of murder, attempt to murder and kidnapping were registered against him.
