Jt CP Traffic transferred; S N Srivastava to succeed

New Delhi, Feb 7 (UNI) In a major development, Jt Commissioner (Traffic) was transferred to the Police Headquarters and replaced by Jt CP (Planning and Implementation).

Jt Commissioner Qamar Ahmad, under whose tenure Delhi saw several revolutionary changes in traffic regulation, was today transferred as Jt Commissioner (Headquarters), according to the police.

He has been replaced by S N Srivastava, presently Jt CP (P&I).

Kathmandu, Feb 8: The Nepal Police today confirmed that kidney racket kingpin Dr Amit Kumar was arrested from a resort in Chitwan district on Feb 7 and was being interrogated at Hanuman Dhoka police post. Speaking at a press conference, senior police officer Upendra Kant Aryal said a case would be filed against him on the charges of human organ trade and the misuse of foreign currency as the police seized a large amount of foreign currency from Dr Kumar. Kidney racket kingpin brought to Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Feb 8: Dr Amit Kumar, the arrested kingpin of the recently unearthed kidney racket, was brought here early this morning by a special team of the city police. He is presently at Hanumandhoka police station and is being interrogated by the Nepal police. It was not clear whether Dr Kumar will be charged for crimes in Nepal or will be handed over to Indian police, the Himalyan Times reported. Dr Kumar was nabbed at 1700 hrs (local time) last evening.....

Kidney scam: SIM cards obtained from kingpins

Kathmandu, Feb 9: A special team of the city police has obtained two SIM card numbers used by Jeevan Kumar, who is allegedly involved in the multi-crore kidney racket with his brother and kingpin Dr Amit Kumar, police sources said. The sources yesterday informed that two calls were made from the numbers to Kathmandu at around 0700 hrs (local time) to 0800 hrs (local time). ''We have traced the telephone talks between Jeevan Kumar and somebody in Kathmandu,'' the sources said,.....
