AP CM urges Pawar not to ban AP poultry products

Hyderabad, Feb 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today urged Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar not to ban poultry products from the state.

An official release here said Dr Reddy had spoken to Mr Pawar and Chief Ministers of other states, which used to source poultry products from Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, State Animal Husbandry Minister Mandali Buddaprasad told UNI that over 8,500 blood samples tested at Bangalore-based South Region Disease Diagnostics Laboratory and High Security Animal Disease Laboratory in Bhopal proved negative.

Eversince the bird flu scare hit the state in 2002, bio-safety measures had been adopted in all poultry farms, he added.

Orissa CPI(ML) Liberation castigates CPI(M) for Cooch Bihar firing

Bhubaneswar, Feb 7 (UNI) The Orissa unit of the CPI(ML)Liberation today castigated the CPI(M) for the death of five Forward Bloc activists in police firing in Cooch Bihar Party State Committee Secretary Khitish Biswal described the incident as the 'outcome of reform in politics' adopted by the CPI(M). Mr Biswal alleged that the party was committing murder one after another just to remain in power and not even hesitated to open fire on its party supporters.....

Congress wants to come to power using ultras: CPI(M)

Agartala, Feb 7 (UNI) The CPI(M) today accused the Congress and Indigenous National Party of Tripra (INPT) of striking up a nexus with militant groups to come to power in the state. Talking to mediapersons, senior CPI(M) leader Goutam Das alleged that the Central Intelligence Agencies had definite information about the meeting between Congress, INPT and rebel leaders. ''They have met in Shillong, Aizwal and Guwahati to give the final shape of their strategy,''.....

Prime Minister to visit Maharashtra on Feb 8

Mumbai, Feb 7 (UNI) A heavy schedule awaits Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who will pay a two-day visit to Maharashtra from tomorrow. Dr Singh will lay the foundation stone for the Rajiv Gandhi National Flying Training Institute at Gondia on February 9. The Institute is a joint venture between the CAE, Canada, and the Airport Authority of India and would have a capacity to train 100 pilots initially. It would also have a state- of-the- art.....
