Yoiuth shot dead; angry mob torches house of accused

Jamshedpur, Feb 6 (UNI) A youth was shot dead following an altercation at Jugsalai area here today.

Police said the incident took place when the deceased was grazing cattle at a field. An armed youth opened fire on him from close range following a verbal duel killing him on the spot. The killer fled soon after the incident, police said.

The killing sparked large scale violence in the area and the locals attacked the house of the accused and torched it, police said and added, no one had yet been arrested in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, in another incident, the police recovered a body of an unidentified man from Kadma police station area this morning. Police said scars were found on the head of the deceased.

Both the bodies were sent for post mortem, police said.

5-year-old girl raped by drunker man

Ramanathapuram, Feb 6 (UNI) A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped at Athiyuthu village near here this evening. Police said the culprit, who was in an inebriated condition, took the girl to a remote location and assaulted her. On hearing the girl's cry, passersby rushed to the spot and rescued the girl.
