Bhutto assassination: Scotland Yard to submit report

Islamabad, Feb,6: Scotland Yard is expected to hand over its first report on the assassination of former Pakistan premier Benazir Bhutto to the caretaker government this week.

Pakistan Interior Ministry sources were quoted by the Dawn as saying that the report was being handed over after a fortnight of forensic investigation in Rawalpindi's Liaquat Bagh area where Benazir was assassinated on December 27, 2007. Interior Ministry spokesman Brigadier Javed Cheema was quoted as saying that the report is expected to be handed over on Friday.British High Commission spokesman Aidan Liddle also confirmed the news of the handing over of the report.

The government has said it would make Scotland Yard's findings public.

In the letter dated January 10, the world's premier investigating agency requested the President to direct local administration to provide it information about the evidence collected from the crime scene soon after the incident, The News reported quoting reliable sources. ''The Scotland Yard has not yet been able to collect.....
