Rupee opens weak at 39.61per USD

Mumbai, Feb 6: The Rupee today extended to lose ground against US dollar on weak global cues to open weak at 39.61/62, dropped atleast six paise from its previous close of 39.45/46 per dollar.

The local unit was trading with a difference of six to seven paise approximately, fluctuating between its upper and lower level in a fairly active inter-bank foreign exchange (Forex) market in the mid-morning trade.

Mumbai, July 27: A drastic fall in sensex margins brought massive losses to Rupee today. The local unit opened at 40.48/50, nearly 14 paise down from the previous close of 40.34/35 per US dollar. It later collapsed by more than 22 paise to touch 40.56/57 levels against dollar with Reserve bank was seen nowhere in the scene during the first half of the day, said dealers. Rupee ends flat at 40.34/35 per dollar

Mumbai, July 26: The Rupee today stood range bound for the day and finally closed flat at 40.34/35 per dollar. Surplus cash in the system prompted Reserve bank to buy out dollars keeping the unit rangebound, to contain further appreciation of the currency, said dealers. Rupee started the day weaker at 40.35/36 and touched a high of 40.27 per dollar during the day before ending at 40.34/35 per dollar. Traders said.....
