Police 'Sahayata Kaksh' for public help in HP

Shimla, Feb 6 (UNI) In a bid to render assistance to locals and tourists visiting the state, the H P police has established 110 Police Sahayata Kaksh at various locations.

Spokesperson AIG (H), Vinod K Dhawan while disclosing this said these police assistance centres have been established at bus stands, hospitals, important traffic junctions, near temples, shopping complexes and residential areas.

''Several such Police Sahayata Kaksh have also been set up at inter-state and inter-district borders. These centres have been established to instil a sense of security and safety in the minds of general public and tourists,'' he said.

He said these police assistance centres are being manned by police constables who are also designated as beat police officers in the urban and rural areas.

''This initiative has been taken during the year 2007 under the Community Policing Scheme. A review of this scheme will be undertaken during the year 2008 to ascertain the usefulness and utility of these centres,'' he added.
