Pak favours 'N' energy option to reduce carbon emissions

New Delhi, Feb 6 (UNI) Pakistan is looking into nuclear energy option to usher in low carbon economy, the country's Environment Minister Syed Wajid Husain Bukhari said here today.

The Minister for Environment, Local Government and Rural Development, told some reporters that his country was very much concerned to cut down its emissions and was looking into various options including nuclear.

''Certainly we are looking into this option alhough at present the share of nuclear power in energy mix is negligible,'' the Minister, who is here to attend the three-day 'Delhi Sustainable Development Summit', said in reply to a question.

He said Pakistan was also taking various legislative measures to address the problem of climate change.

Saddam Hussein's half-brother executed
