New Chief Secretary appointed in K'taka

Bangalore, Feb 6 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur today ordered shifting of Chief Secretary P B Mahishi to Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) as its Chairman.

According to official sources here, Mr Sudhakar Rao has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of the state.

Mr Rao was currently Additional Chief Secretary and State Development Commissioner.

Mr Mahishi was appointed as Chief Secretary by the previous JD(S)-BJP coalition government headed by H D Kumaraswamy.

The Governor also effected a minor reshuffle of IAS officers and ordered filling up of existing vacancy by posting of 11 IAS Officers to various departments.

Commissioner of Mass Education K Shivaram was transferred to Department of Youth Services as Secretary in the existing vacancy.

Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation Managing Director Mohammed Mohsin has been posted as Managing Director of Hubli Electricity Company.

Additional Project Director of Sujala Watershed Development Project has been transferred and posted as Director of Agriculture Marketing in the existing vacancy.
