Japanese practice yoga to keep healthy!

Kolkata, Feb 6: Thousands of people in Japan in the age group of 5 to 90 years besides top sportspersons in that country now regularly practise yoga to keep themselves fit. All credits in this regard go to Yogacharya Jibananda Ghosh and his wife Karuna Ghosh who have taught yoga in Japan for about last four decades. Mr Ghosh, the top exponent of yoga and founder of 'Ghosh's Yoga Institute' in Tokyo, who was in the city recently, said practising yoga was most vital not only for sportspersons but also for the general people to maintain a healthy body and mind.

Mr Ghosh, who is also the founder of Indo-Japanese Association in Japan, said taking the cue from late Bayamcharya Bishnu Charan Ghosh - who started teaching yoga 70 years ago, and Karuna, who is also the daughter of the Bayamacharya, ceaselessly endeavoured to impart yoga training in Japan scientifically for about last 40 years. He said the Institute had a number of branches which were involved in teaching yoga in Japan besides Australia and New Zealand.

Jibananda and Karuna also wrote a number of books in Japanese to popularise yoga there. Mr Ghosh informed that these books were in great demand and there had been a number of editions of the latest book titled '' Indian Yoga Helps Release Stress.''

India to surpass UK, Canada in car prod by 2008

New Delhi, Feb 20:India is expected to move ahead of the United Kingdom and Canada as a car-producing country as its car production capacity is expected to surpass two million units by 2008 from the present 1.4 million units. The country has already surpassed Korea to become the third largest car market in Asia-Pacific after China and Japan. The auto component industry is likely to almost double to 18.7 billion dollars by 2009 and reach about 40 billion.....
