Satna (MP), Feb 6: In a gruesome incident, five members of a family, including a woman and a child, were killed on the spot and six others seriously injured when a speeding truck rammed into a jeep and fell on it on Satna-Maihar bypass road near here early this morning.
The injured, including three women, were admitted to the district hospital, police said.
The victims belonging to a family from Chitrakoot were returning after paying obeisance at the famous Maihar Devi temple of this district. When they had stopped the jeep in front of a hotel near the Forest Naka to have take tea around 0500 hrs, a truck laden with potatoes rammed into the jeep and later overturned on it trapping the pilgrims under it.
