Youth shot dead, two militants nabbed

Imphal, Feb 3: A youth was shot dead by unknown miscreants last night at Lilong, Thoubal while another was seriously injured.

Police said here today that unidentified persons fired at two youths last night and one of them succumbed to his injuries while the other was fighting for his life at the Regional Institute of medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.

Meanwhile, acting on a tip-off, troops of 39 Assam Rifles of the ninth sector under HQ IGAR (South), launched operations at the Sagolband Heinoubok area and apprehended one United National Liberation Front (UNLF) cadre and handed him over to police yesterday.

Police said in another operation, Imphal West District Police Commandos arrested one People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) cadre from Uripok, Imphal yesterday.
