Manipur continues to reel under cold weather

Imphal, Feb 3 (UNI) The weather remained cold today in Manipur with the minimum temperature at 3.9 degrees Celsius.

Local Met sources said the maximum temperature was recorded at about 20.5 degrees Celsius.

The maximum relative humidity was pegged at about 72 per cent.

Jakarta, Dec 28: Government and aid agencies were moving food, water and medical aid today to hundreds of thousands forced into temporary shelters by floods and landslides on Indonesia's Sumatra island. Officials used helicopters to reach remote points in Aceh province on the tip of the island, while military airplanes and dozens of lorries shuttled relief supplies to other areas. Health authorities began treating well water to stem the outbreak of disease......

Fog paralyses London's Heathrow airport again

London, Dec 22: Thousands of travellers struggling to get home for Christmas faced another day of chaos and frustration today as London's Heathrow airport was blanketed in fog. ''The weather across much of the UK is regrettably showing little sign of improvement,'' said Geoff Want, director of ground operations for British Airways which has cancelled all domestic flights. Boeing 747 Jumbo jets are being put on some European routes to try and deal.....
