LeT operatives planned blasts at IT installations, Goa

Hubli, Feb 3(UNI) The police continued interrogation of the three suspected terrorists, two arrested in Davangere district and the other from this city, today.

The final year MBBS student Asif Mohammad was arrested by the city police for allegedly having links with suspected LeT activists Riyazuddin Naser of Hyderabad and Asadullah of Hospet, who were arrested in Honnali town of Davangere district early this month..

The trio had revealed some disturbing facts during the interrogation that included bomb attack on vital IT installations in the city and attack on foreign tourists in Goa.

Commissioner of police Narayana Nadamani told UNI that investigation was on and the whole case would be handed over to COD by this evening. However, he refused to detail the investigation progress.

Meanwhile, the Davangere police, who came here today conducted searches in the places where Asif and the other two had lived in Hubli and reportedly found gelatin sticks, detonators and some timers.

Police would subject trio to narco-analysis and brain mapping tests at Bangalore from February Six, police sources said.

Both Riyazuddin and Asadullah were understood to have confessed during interrogation that they had undergone training in Pakistan occupied Kashmir in making improvised explosive devices and their allegiance to terror outfit LeT.

They were told to steal bikes, park them in crowded public places after fitting the explosives, especially in vital IT locations in the state capital and in the tourist destinations in the coast including Goa, police sources said.

Meanwhile, Karnataka backward association in a release said that the flag found at Saaton Shaheed Darga about 12 kilometers from here in Kalghatagi taluk, was not Pakistan flag but only a religious flag.

Reports said that the outlaws had conducted a camp in the forests of Kalghatagi and the three arrested had taken part in it.

In Davangere, police sources said they were looking for one Nooruddin, an accomplice of the trio, hailing from Bijapur. He was a contact person for the terror outfit in the area.
