Four Union Ministers to attend Editors' meet at Aizawl

Aizawl, Feb 3 (UNI) Four Central Ministers are expected to attend the Editors' conference on social infrastructure issues in Northeast to be held here on February 4 and 5.

The much-awaited conference is likely to be attended by Jairam Ramesh (Commerce), R Velu (Minister of State, Railways), Subodh Kant Sahay (Food Processing) and Santosh Mohan Dev (Heavy Industries).

State Information Minister R Lalthangliana would inaugurate the conference.

Aid moves to many displaced by Indonesia floods

Jakarta, Dec 28: Government and aid agencies were moving food, water and medical aid today to hundreds of thousands forced into temporary shelters by floods and landslides on Indonesia's Sumatra island. Officials used helicopters to reach remote points in Aceh province on the tip of the island, while military airplanes and dozens of lorries shuttled relief supplies to other areas. Health authorities began treating well water to stem the outbreak of disease......

Fog paralyses London's Heathrow airport again

London, Dec 22: Thousands of travellers struggling to get home for Christmas faced another day of chaos and frustration today as London's Heathrow airport was blanketed in fog. ''The weather across much of the UK is regrettably showing little sign of improvement,'' said Geoff Want, director of ground operations for British Airways which has cancelled all domestic flights.
