Dowry victim sets self, daughter on fire

Mirzapur, Feb 3 (UNI) Driven by continuous harrying by in laws over dowry, a young woman allegedly set self and her infant daughter on fire in Adalhatt area of this Uttar Pradesh district.

Lalita Devi (20) set self and two-month-old daughter on fire after dousing kerosene late last night.

The two succumbed on the spot.

According to police, Lalita was continuously harassed for dowry and she took the drastic step after failing to satisfy the greed of her inlaws.

Investigations were underway.
