CPI(M) stresses on multi-pronged strategy for socialism

Bangalore, Feb 3 (UNI) Communist Party of India (Marxist) Central Committee Member Nilotpal Basu today stressed on the need for a multi-pronged strategy to build Socialism in India.

Referring to the ''failure of democracy'' in Pakistan, Mr Basu said India was no different, despite being a socialistic republic nation, as mentioned in the Preamble of the Constitution.

The CPI(M) leader also criticised a recent court order to remove the word 'Socialistic' from the Preamble of the Constitution.

''Socialism for Communists is a society, where there is no exploitation of man by man,'' he said, adding, ''to build such a society, we need a scientific ideology with a revolutionary consciousness among people.'' The seminar was organised as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the EMS Namboodiripad Government in Kerala.
