BJP denies links with controversial CD


Jaunpur, Feb 3: Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member Kalraj Mishra today reaffirmed that his party had no connection with the CD released during the last Uttar Pradesh assembly election, allegedly having contents instigating communal violence.

Mr Mishra arrested that all the charges against BJP are ''false and baseless.'' He also sought to refute charges against party's national President Rajnath Singh and said BJP would counter it at every level. ''BJP would also knock the doors of court for justice and would also involve people of the democratic country for a fair trial,'' he asserted.

He further alleged that Mayawati-led Uttar Pradesh governemnt had failed in all fronts and thus was attacking BJP and other opposition parties.

Making a scathing attack on State government's agricultural policies, he said farmers are in a dismal condition, lacking seeds, water, power and irrigation facilities.

The government had not yet paid the dues of jthe sugercane farmers, he added.

Underlining poor the development, he charged the Mayawati government with being busy framing opposition under political vendetta, whereas, poor and downtrodden were committing suicide at several places in the state for lack of basic facilities.

Highlighting the Bundelkhand issue, he lambasted UP government for announcing a relief package instead of instant relief services.

Further, he charged the government for running a corrupt regime and said it had left way behind the Mulayam Singh regime in crime and corruption.'' Criticising the state's trifurcation proposal, he termed it a ''clever step by the UP CM to conceal flaws and malpractises during her regime.''

Nandigram issue; RS and LS adjourned for 1hour

New Delhi, Mar 16:  The Nandigram issue reverberated in the Lok Sabha for the second day today with the BJP-led Opposition creating noisy scenes and staging a demonstration, forcing the adjournment of the house for an hour.As soon as the question hour began, Opposition members trooped into the well of the house, shouting slogans and demanding the resignation of the West Bengal government over the issue of police firing in Nandigram on March 14 which resulted in the death.....
