Afghan police lift siege on ex-warlord Dostum



Kabul, Feb.3 : Police in Afghanistan capital, Kabul, have lifted a siege around the house of former ethnic Uzbek warlord Abdul Rashid ostum after briefly surrounding it on Sunday.

According to The News, Dostum's house was surrounded after he and a group of around 50 armed men beat up a former ally.

Dostum is said to have beaten up his former election manager Akbar Bay late on Saturday and shot a bodyguard.

The case has been handed over to the judiciary for investigation, the head of Kabul police criminal branch was quoted as saying.
