Kamal, Poulomi in 10-member India team for World Team Championhips

New Delhi, Feb 2 (UNI) National champion Achanta Sharath Kamal will spearhead the Indian challenge in the World Team Table Tennis Championships to be held in Guangzhou, China from February 24 to March 2.

Kamal will be joined by Subhajit Saha, Soumyadeep Roy, Pathik Mehta and A Amal Raj. The women's team will comprise of Mouma Das, Poulomi Ghatak, Neha Aggarwal, K Shamini and Kasturi Chakraborty a Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) statement said here today. The team is coached by Aleksey Effermov of Belarus.

Kumbhar, Dimple bag honours in Federation Cup Cross Country

Nagpur, Feb 3 (UNI) Ashok Kumbhar and Dimple Naidu, both of Maharashtra, won in the men's and women's sections respectively in the 4-km run on the second and last day of the 13th Federation Cup National Cross Country championship here today. Kumbhar clocked 12:16 to emerge the winner, while Dimple did likewise with a timing of 15:29 in the event hosted by Nagpur District Athletic Association under the aegis of Maharashtra Amateur Athletic Association (MAAA)......

Govt to encourage pvt industrial trainning centres

Patna, Feb 03 (UNI) Bihar government has decided to encourage the private investors to set up industrial training centres in the state. Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who also holds the portfolio of Labour Resource department, today said the government is committed to providing better empolyment avenues to the youths. He also informed that at least 15 industrial trainning centres were set up last year and the government had granted permission to 50 more such.....

Ganguly confident of Manoj turnaround

Kolkata, Feb 3 (UNI) Sourav Ganguly today said debutante Bengal batsman Manoj Tewari would require more time to acclimatise to the conditions in Australia. Manoj was bowled for two runs in his debut match at Gabba against Australia. ''Manoj is a good cricketer and has loads of runs in domestic cricket. He will do well the faster he can acclimatise with the weather and conditions in Australia. You cannot judge a cricketer form one match,'' Sourav said......
