Prez arrives on a two-day visit to Karnataka

Bangalore, Feb 1: President Prathiba Patil today arrived here on a two-day visit to Karnataka.

Governor Rameshwar Thakur, political leaders including former Chief Minister N Dharm Singh, KPCC President Mallikarjun Kharge and top officials received the President at the airport on her arrival by special flight. During her stay, Ms Patil would inaugurate the First Anniversary Celebrations of the Bangalore Mediation Centre in the evening. After a overnight stay at Raj Bhavan she would flagoff Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation's much awaited luxury train the Golden Chariot.

The President was also scheduled to visit the world heritage centre Hampi before her departure to National Capital.
