Three arrested for attempting human sacrifice in AP village

Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 27 (UNI) Police arrested three people, for attempting to sacrifice a woman to propitiate the village goddess to unearth a treasure reportedly hidden in the fields at Rampachodavaram in East Godavari district.

The shocking incident came to light, when K Venkata Lakshmi (25), a tribal woman from Ginnepalli village, complained that her paternal uncle, along with two others, had tried to sacrifice her on January 21, police said.

The villagers caught her uncle Kosu Dasu Dora and the two others and thrashed them. However, police intervened and arrested them.

The trio confessed to the crime and said they had performed poojas to the village deity in the fields.

The victim was admitted to the Government Hospital at Rampachodavaram and discharged the next day.
