Judge frustrated over Britney hit-and-run case

Washington, Jan 27 : A case against Britney Spears is said to have brought frustration to the supervising judge - because it is taking too long in getting resolved.

Spears had bumped into a car in a Los Angeles car park without a valid Californian driver's licence.

The owner of the damaged car filed an accident report at a local police station days later but a financial settlement settled the hit-and-run aspect of the case.

However, even after the settlement, the charge of driving without a valid licence remained, and on Jan 26, Judge T. K. Herman expressed frustration the case was taking so long to resolve.

The judge has adjourned the hearing till Feb 20th by which time the lawyers must either be ready to settle or face trial, reports Contactmusic.

Spears could face up to six months in prison or a 1,000-dollar fine if convicted, however, her lawyer has insisted that it is very unlikely that she will go to jail.

J. Michael Flanagan made the confident prediction outside the California court where he had been defending the troubled pop princess over last August's case.
