Chandigarh, Jan 27: As many as 150 physically challenged persons were examined by doctors at a health camp organized by Narayan Sewa Sansthan under the aegis of Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, of the central government at Panchkula today.
Deputy Commissioner Rajender Kataria, who inaugurated the camp, also distributed 30 tri-cycles, five wheel chairs and 25 crutches to the needy as per the recommendations of the doctors of Saket Hospital, who had examined the patients at the camp. The doctors included Dr J S Bhatia, Director of Saket Hospital and Dr V J S Vohra. They also recommended operations to some of the physically challenged persons, which would be performed free of cost at the hospital of the Narayan Sewa Sansthan in Udaipur.
While speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts being made by such organizations to help the needy and assured all help of the district administration in such causes.
The camp was supported by Pee Kay Scaffolding and Shuttering Limited, Zirakpur.
