Three dreaded criminals arrested, arms recovered

Muzaffarpur, Jan 26 (UNI) Three notorious criminals were tonight arrested from their hideouts in a village in this North Bihar district.

Police here said a huge cache of arms and ammunition had been seized.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the Jagannathpur village near here and rounded up the three criminals.

One AK 47 rifle, two carbines and as many countrymade pistols and grenades besides several rounds of live cartridges were seized from them.

All the three arrested were wanted in connection with several cases of murders, abduction, loot and arson by Bihar police.

APHRC adjourns hearing on naxal leader's arrest

Major fire in five-star hotel, all guests safe

New Delhi, Jan 26 (UNI) Nearly 500 people had a providential escape this afternoon when a major fire swept through one of the capital's upmarket hotels in the Vasant Kunj area of South-West Delhi. The fire engulfed nearly two floors of the six-storey, 390-room 'Grand Hotel' at about 1230 hrs, but was brought under control within nearly two-and-a-half hours, said a senior Fire Brigade official.
