Teachers should inculcate values among children: APJ

Hyderabad, Jan 26 (UNI) Former President A P J Abdul Kalam today said a teacher should be a role model and inculcate values among children.

Speaking on the occasion of the 59th Republic Day celebrations, organised by Lead India 2020 Foundation here, he said, sufficient value systems should be adopted in schools for overall development of the children.'' Knowledge had three components, creativity, righteousness and courage, he said.

On the occasion, Dr Kalam administered an oath to them with Republic Day message that they should realise their dreams by working hard.

Major fire in five-star hotel, all guests safe

New Delhi, Jan 26 (UNI) Nearly 500 people had a providential escape this afternoon when a major fire swept through one of the capital's upmarket hotels in the Vasant Kunj area of South-West Delhi.
