DU confers honorary doctorate upon Brown

New Delhi, Jan 21: The Delhi University conferred an honorary Doctorate of Letters(D Litt) upon British Prime Minister Gordon Brown today.

Vice-President Hamid Ansari presented the D Litt (Honouris Causa) degree to the visiting Premier. The function was held in the Delhi University premises amid heavy security restrictions in view of the Republic Day. Mr Brown later inaugurated the UK Sports Initiative at the University ground.

He arrived here yesterday on two-day visit.

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will organise a Lok Shivir on Friday to deal with conversion cases among its allottees under the Rohini Residential Scheme. Activities such as execution of conveyence deed, sale of conversion application, reciept of conversion applications and reciept of other miscellaneous requests related to conversion and lease will be taken up at the camp, a DDA release said. Assam Company commences oil delivery from Amguri field

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) Assam Company Ltd (ACL) has begun delivery of oil from its operated field in Amguri to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) refinery in Guwahati, Assam, about 115 km away. The oil is being sold at the same price as a basket of crude oils with similar characteristics traded in the international market, a company release here said. The oil produced from Amguri is first trucked to Oil India Ltd (OIL) facility at Moran.....
