Two train accidents averted in AP

Tirupati, Jan 13: Two train accidents were averted in Andhra Pradesh with dutiful employees detecting cracks on the track.

Railway sources said Rayalaseema Express was detained after a crack was detected on the track between Tirupati and Renugunta stations here today.

Many other trains in the sector suffered detention.

Similarly, the Secunderabad-bound Janmabhoomi Express suffered a detention after cracks developed on the track, near Pithapuram between Samalkot-Visakhapatnam section.

According to a report from Hyderabad, several trains were delayed between Secunderabad-Vijayawada stations after a military goods train wagon derailed near Eppagudem in Warangal district.

About nine trains, including Delhi bound AP Express, Gowhati Express, Telangana express, and Tirpupathi bound Krishna Express were detained at various stations.

The services resumed after track was cleared.
