AP CM asks officials to start construction work in schools

Hyderabad, Jan 10: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today asked the Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare departments to start construction work of compound walls and bathrooms in all the schools and hostels in the State.

The Chief Minister, who reviewed and discussed the issues pertaining to the Tribal Welfare and Social Welfare departments with the ministers and officials concerned, asked the finance department to consider the issues of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes positively, a release said here.

Dr Reddy said the Construction should be ready when the schools reopen in June. The Government would provide necessary funds, he added.

The Chief Minister said steps were initiated to fill-up the vacancies for teachers and welfare officers.

CII suggests creation of Skill Development fund in AP

Hyderabad, Dec 24: Andhra Pradesh Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Chairman Pradeep Dhobale today suggested creation of a skill development fund of Rs 100 crore to spearhead skill development initiatives in the state. After submitting the CII Pre-Budget memorandum for the year 2008-09 to state Finance Minister K Rosaiah, he said creating skills at all levels would help to sustain the growth momentum. The memorandum suggested the state government to consider providing benefits like exemption from electricity duty and grid support.....
