Wage Board members meet journalists, non-journalists

Puducherry, Dec 28 (UNI) Three members of National Wage Board for working journalists and non-journalists of newspapers and news agencies today held discussion with publishers and journalists here.

Speaking on the occasion, Member Secretary K M Sahni said the journalists' demand for payment of salary through banks would be considered.

He said the Wage Board would also look into the demand on cut down in contractual appointments in newspapers.

Puducherry Chief Secretary Ragesh Bihari said the administration would conduct regular review meetings with journalists.

Earlier, Mr Sahni expressed regret that representatives of seven newspapers published from Puducherry, failed to turn up for the meeting.
