TNCC chief hopes TN Govt will deal sternly with LTTE

Chennai, Dec 28 (UNI) TNCC President M Krishnasamy today exuded confidence that the DMK Government in Tamil Nadu would firmly deal with the outlawed LTTE.

A day after senior Congress leader S R Balasubramoniyam warned the State government against infiltration of LTTE ultras under the guise of refugees, Mr Krishnasamy said he firmly believed that the DMK government would deal with the LTTE with an iron hand.

The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) President Thol Thirumavalavan had stopped talking in support of the LTTE, heeding his advise, he said.

Mr Krishnasamy gave a clean chit to the State on the law and order front, stating that compared to other States, law and order was well maintained in Tamil Nadu and the State continued to be a haven of peace.

He alleged that the ''communal'' BJP had won the Assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh by spreading a false campaign and said it was not a setback to the Congress.

Earlier, Mr Krishnasamy hoisted the party flag and offered floral tributes to national leaders on the occasion of the party's 123rd founding day.
