Rajasthan Assembly polls to produce Hung House: Singhvi

Jaipur, Dec 28 (UNI) Bharatiya Janshakti Party Vice-President and state unit in charge Chandraraj Singhvi today claimed the 2008 Assembly election in Rajasthan would produce a Hung House and expressed his resolve to work for the emergence of a non Congress, non BJP Third Front in the state.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Singhvi said in view of the prevailing ''political equations'' in the state neither the ruling BJP nor the Congress would be ''in a position to attain majority in the election scheduled to be held by the end of next year.

''Therefore, the emerging Third Front-- a grouping of all non BJP and non Congress candidates including the BJ and the BSP--would play a ''diktating role'' in the formation of a new government,'', Mr Singhvi said.

Anti incumbency factor, internal dissidence and infighting, fallout of the Gujjar reservation agitation and corruption and scams were causing major damages to the ruling BJP while erosion of support bases in communities like Jats and Brahmins would make a major dent in the Congress vote bank. ''Both the parties are bound to fall far short of the majority,'' he said.

Mr Singhvi said he had been in the process of floating the Third Front with the support of anti BJP and Congress groups and individuals. ''I will launch a ''Talash Yatra'' from January 1 to find out potential candidates from Ajmer district to different Assembly segments in the state, he added.
