Political parties in Nepal condemn Bhutto's assasination

Kathmandu, Dec 28 (UNI) Nepal Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala today condemned the assasination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in Rawalpindi yesterday.

Mr Koirala said he was shocked to hear the murder of Benazir Bhutto.

Foreign Minister Sahana Pradhan also termed the murder as an attempt to kill democracy.

Nepali Congress(NC) party said ''the assassination of a leader fighting for strengthening democratic culture in Pakistan was an act of cowardice as well as an attack on democracy and human rights.'' CPN-UML also condemned the murder saying that the elements trying to instigate instability in the south Asian region could have been behind her assassination.

Various communist parties including CPN-Mashal and CPN-United also issued statements condemning the assassination.

Benazir laid to rest amid massive outpouring of grief

Rattodero, Pakistan, Dec 28 (UNI) The body of assassinated former Prime Minister and charismatic leader Benazir Bhutto was laid to rest in her family graveyard at Garhi Khuda Baksh amid scenes of unprecedented grief and mourning. Benazir was laid to rest next to her father and former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, who was executed in 1979, in the white mausoleum she had ordered built during her first term in power. Her brothers Shahnawaz and Murtaza, who also met unnatural deaths,.....

'Upper Crust' wins Krishnaraja Trophy

Bangalore, Dec 28 (UNI) 'Upper Crust' ridden by jockey Ranjeet Singh won the Krishnaraja Trophy, the main event of the races held here today. Kumaraswamy to lead JD(S) in the coming Assembly elections

Bangalore, Dec 28 (UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today said that he would lead the Janata Dal(Secular) in the coming mid-term elections to the State Assembly.
