HP outcome will not affect Congress prospect in Karnataka

Belgaum, Dec 28 (UNI) Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Mallikarjun Kharge today said that the results of the Himachal Pradesh will not have any bearing on the prospect of the party in the Assembly elections in the State.

Talking to press persons here, he said that Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh were the states ruled by BJP before election and if they win now also it will not affect Karnataka. "The political situation in neighbouring states such as Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh affects the state politics and not the North Indian politics- he added.

Pranab visits Pak High Comm, offers condolence

New Delhi, Dec 28: External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today visited the Pakistan High Commission here and met senior officials to offer his condolence on the assassination of former Pakistan prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
