HP outcome will not affect Congress prospect in Karnataka

Belgaum, Dec 28 (UNI) Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Mallikarjun Kharge today said that the results of the Himachal Pradesh will not have any bearing on the prospect of the party in the Assembly elections in the State.

Talking to press persons here, he said that Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh were the states ruled by BJP before election and if they win now also it will not affect Karnataka. "The political situation in neighbouring states such as Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh affects the state politics and not the North Indian politics- he added.

Tiruchirapalli, Dec 28 (UNI) The National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities will organise a four-day exhibition, showcasing latest hearing-aid, calipers and artificial limbs, here from January four. Hundis at Ramanathaswamy temple breaks

Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, Dec 28 (UNI) Two hundis at the entrance to the famous Sri Ramanathaswamy temple here broke after being accidentally knocked down by Aiyappa devotees, forcing the temple authorities to close the entrance for over an hour, early today. Official sources said the hundis gave way due to corrosion, spilling coins and currency notes, and some miscreants tried to collect the coins.
