FIR should be lodged against officials for instigating suicide:_BJP

Lucknow, Dec 28 (UNI) Eventhough the Mayawati Government has scrapped the auction process in Lakhimpur Kheri district which led to suicide by two people, Uttar Pradesh unit of BJP today demanded that criminal cases should be lodged against the district officials for instigating the people to commit suicide.

The party has also demanded a probe by the chairman of the Revenue Board and compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to both the families.

A three member team of the BJP led by party's state vice-president Hridya Narain Dikhsit visited Lakhimpur Kheri yesterday and met the family members of the deceased.

Claiming that Bahujan Samaj Party government was insensitive, Mr Dikhsit said the suicides were committed after the agriculture land of these two farmers were illegally grabbed through fake auction for non-payment of loans.

'' The governemnt officials involved in the action should be punished severely which led to the suicide of two people'', he said.

Demanding the all the documents related to the illegal auction done in October last should be sealed, the BJP leader said no information was given to the deceased on auction of their agriculture land, which was the only source of their income.

'' Now the only motive of the BSP government is to hush up the issue'', he added.
