Fact finding team should assess the situation-AICC

Bhubaneswar, Dec 28 (UNI) The All India Christian Council (AICC) today urged the Civil society to set up a fact finding team and visit the affected areas of Kandhmal district to assess the situation.

AICC Secretary General Johan Dayal has alleged that many prayer houses and institutions were damaged during the communal clashes as the administration did not take any step till now to prevent attacks on the community.

A government which could not maintain the law and order should resign, he demanded.

Mr Dayal said only a balanced fact finding team could assess the situation independently.

Mr Dayal also demanded adequate compensation to the injured and deployment of central paramilitary forces to protect the people and their property.

He said he was not satisfied with the judicial inquiry ordered by the Chief Minister and demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident.
