Dr Soni appointed Team India manager for Aus one-day series

Jaipur, Dec 28 (UNI) Dr BR Soni, deputy president of Rajasthan Cricket Association(RCA) has been appointed as manager of Team India for one-day series in Australia, according to a communication of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to RCA.

The one-day series will be played from February 1 to March 8. Dr Soni will replace former Test cricketer Cheitan Chouhan who is the manager for the Test series currently in progress in Australia. Dr Soni will be the convener of tour selection committee also, the BCCI communication said.

Dr Soni, who is a former Rajasthan Ranji Trophy player would be the second person from Rajasthan after about a decade to be appointed as the manager of Team India.

PCI urges Orissa govt to protect Christians

Shillong, Dec 28 (UNI) The Presbyterian Church of India (PCI) today expressed shock and grief over recent attacks on Churches and Christian homes in Orissa. In a statement issued here, the PCI demanded from the Orissa government compensation for properties lost during the attack, besides providing humanitarian aid to the bereaved. AP CM promises HRA hike for Govt employees in Greater city

Hyderabad, Dec 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today announced that the Government would increase the House Rent Allowance (HRA) to the State Government employees in the Greater Hyderabad city, in view of the upgradation of the Hyderabad city into Greater Hyderabad.
