Davanagere District Information Officer kept under suspension

Davanagere, Dec 28(UNI) Davanagere District Information Officer T Kanumappa today placed under suspension for dereliction of duties.

Karnataka Information Commissioner Rabindernath Tagore ordered suspension of Kanumappa based on a report from District Deputy Commissioner M B Dyaberi. The Commissioner has also ordered a departmental inquiry against Kanumappa.

Mr Dyaberi had told reporters recently that he had given 18 month time to Kanumappa to change his attitude while discharging the official duties, but he did not correct himself forcing him to send a report to the Commissioner.

Chitradurga District Information Officer Maheshwaraiah will be the incharge of Davanagere Information Office.

Blast in hospital kills four in Uttar Pradesh

Bahraich, Dec 28: At least four people were killed and two others seriously wounded, when a blast occurred at the district hospital here this morning. The explosion occurred at a section of Malariya hospital, Chandpur, where construction work was going on, District Magistrate Sudhir Srivastava today told to the sources. Free flow of arms in NE due to corruption in security forces: BJP

Shillong, Dec 28 (UNI) The BJP today accused the security forces in the North East of indulging in corruption and alleged that the free flow of illegal arms through the porous international borders along the region had posed a grave security threat. Talking to reporters here, BJP organising secretary in-charge of the North East P Chandrashekhar claimed that some of the illegal arms consignments, entering the NE from Bangladesh, Myanmar and Nepal, were being supplied to Maoist ultras, besides other militant.....
