Congress lost moral right to continue: Delhi BJP

New Delhi, Dec 28 (UNI) The Delhi unit of the BJP today said the Congress has lost its moral right to continue at the Centre as it has lost in five state assembly elections in a row.

The party's state chief Harsh Vardhan said the people have exposed the anti-people Government. ''Now the country wants to get rid of the Congress misrule. The people want to handover the reins of power to the development-oriented and nationalist BJP,'' he added.

He claimed that the days of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi are numbered, and said the people of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, who were suffering due to the ''atrocities'' of the party and from price spiral have defeated it.

The Congress has also been defeated in the local bodies elections in Maharashtra and Delhi, he added.

''This series of defeat is a message to the Congress that it should itself renounce power otherwise it will also lose its honour,'' Dr Harshvardhan added.

The party also announced that it would accord an ''unprecedented welcome to the Sardar of Gujarat Narender Modi at the Airport tomorrow morning''.

Expressing confidence that the people of Delhi would bid farewell to the Sheila Dikshit government in the Delhi legislative assembly elections next year, the state president said the BJP would free the people from the ''atrocities of the corrupt and anti-people'' Congress government the way it is providing relief to lakhs of the people of the capital through the MCD.
