Christian missionaries spreading hate propaganda among adivasis

Guwahati, Dec 28 (UNI) The Assam convener of the Lok Jagaran Manch Dayal, Krishna Bora, today accused the Christian missionaries in the state of trying to divide the state along communal lines. Talking to mediapersons here, he said, ''The Christian missionaries have been indulging in a hate propaganda among the Adivasis and tea tribe community in the state.'' He pointed to the arrest of two missionaries from Upper Assam last week for allegedly possessing copies of a CD with edited visuals of November 24 violence in Guwahati during an Adivasi rally.

The state government had issued a warning of the circulation of such a fabricated CD to instigate the largely illiterate tea tribes in the tea gardens.

Mr Bora alleged that the Christain missionaries were trying to break the age-old bonds the tea tribes shared with the Assamese community by provoking them against the Hindu community.
