Badal felicitates BJP for victory in Himachal

Chandigarh, Dec 28 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today congratulated the BJP High Command and its Himachal Pradesh unit on their resounding victory in the just concluded elections.

''It is also a part of the nation-wide winds of change blowing in the country at the moment,'' said the Chief Minister who is heading the SAD-BJP alliance in the state.

In a message to the BJP High Command including Mr Rajnath Singh, Mr Atal Behari Vajpayee and L K Advani and BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate in Himachal, Mr Prem Kumar Dhumal, Mr Badal described the poll results as 'people's verdict in favour of the NDA policies and a rejection of the Congress ''mis-governance'' in Himachal Pradesh.

New Delhi, Dec 28 (UNI) A Memorandum of Collaboration has been signed between Indira Gandhi National Open University and Higher Colleges of Technology, Abu Dhabi, for offering Degree and Diploma Programmes at the Under Graduate and Post Graduate Level. Blast in hospital kills four in Uttar Pradesh

Bahraich, Dec 28: At least four people were killed and two others seriously wounded, when a blast occurred at the district hospital here this morning. The explosion occurred at a section of Malariya hospital, Chandpur, where construction work was going on, District Magistrate Sudhir Srivastava today told to the sources. Free flow of arms in NE due to corruption in security forces: BJP

Shillong, Dec 28 (UNI) The BJP today accused the security forces in the North East of indulging in corruption and alleged that the free flow of illegal arms through the porous international borders along the region had posed a grave security threat. Talking to reporters here, BJP organising secretary in-charge of the North East P Chandrashekhar claimed that some of the illegal arms consignments, entering the NE from Bangladesh, Myanmar and Nepal, were being supplied to Maoist ultras, besides other militant.....
