AP CM promises HRA hike for Govt employees in Greater city

Hyderabad, Dec 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today announced that the Government would increase the House Rent Allowance (HRA) to the State Government employees in the Greater Hyderabad city, in view of the upgradation of the Hyderabad city into Greater Hyderabad.

While addressing the party workers of the Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee, he said the Government would provide HRA on par with the Central Government employees in the city.

The Chief Minister was responding to the appeal made by Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee President D Nagender to enhance the HRA to the Government employees in Greater Hyderabad.

Dr Reddy said the Government had initiated steps to provide drinking water daily in the city from next year. The Government had also decided to implement Rs two a kilo rice scheme from April next year, he added.

He said 'Indiramma Programme' would be implemented in the Cantonment area.

GCMMF Milk procurement crosses 100 lakh kgs per day

Ahmedabad, Dec 28 (UNI) The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), popularly known as AMUL, has achieved a feat of procuring 100 lakh kgs milk per day on December 27. AMUL sources said here today that the dairy cooperatives of Gujarat under the GCMMF fold, crossed milk procurement of 100 lakh kgs per mark yesterday and claimed that this is the highest ever milk procurement achieved by any dairy network in India. The last highest milk procurement was 89 lakh kgs.....

India will continue to remain engaged with Pakistan

New Delhi, Dec 28 (UNI) India will continue to remain engaged with Pakistan and will encourage the ''right forces'' to help democracy in that country. A day after the assassination of Pakistan's former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, official sources said it was in India's interest to have a stable and peaceful periphery and ensure that support to democracy in that country was crucial. India did not send anybody to Benazir funeral at Pak request

New Delhi, Dec 28 (UNI) India was ready to depute External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee to represent the country at the funeral of Pakistan's former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto who was assassinated yesterday and laid to rest in Larkana today.
